Discover the heartfelt journey of educators reshaping learning.

Shalom! Today we delve into the inspiring story of the Ibri Academy, a school born out of passion and a deep commitment to nurturing the next generation.

The Heart Behind Ibri Academy

Yiskah HuldahYahu welcomes Mushalah Emet and Bachr Ezar Hadassah, co-founders of Ibri Academy. With over 17 years of experience in education, both women have a profound dedication to teaching and a vision for a different kind of learning environment.

Emet shares her journey from aspiring lawyer to passionate educator. "I always loved children and found myself drawn to teaching, even while I was pursuing a political science degree. Eventually, I realized that the public school system was not where I wanted my own children to be."

Hadassah echoes this sentiment, describing her own experiences with teachers who made a significant impact on her life. "In the sea of children, they saw me. Their calm demeanor made school feel safe and welcoming. That's what I want to replicate at Ibri Academy."

A New Approach to Education

Both founders recognized the challenges within the public school system, including issues of bullying and a lack of individualized support. Emet recalls, "I was that teacher who would take in the so-called 'bad children.' I aimed to provide comfort and guidance. But I realized the system was failing them."

This realization led them to create a hybrid model of education that combines traditional classroom learning with homeschooling. Emet explains, "We follow the Finland model, where students learn through a blend of direct instruction and independent study at home. This approach fosters not just academic achievement but also personal growth."

Building a Community

At Ibri Academy, the focus is on creating a nurturing environment where children can thrive. "We emphasize the importance of family and community in education," says Hadassah. "Our goal is to instill truth and integrity in our students, preparing them not just for tests but for life."

The founders hope to inspire a new generation of learners who see beyond conventional career paths. Emet shares a poignant story of a student who aspired to work at McDonald's, realizing that many children lack exposure to broader possibilities. "We want to encourage our students to envision a future filled with opportunities."

Conclusion

The journey of Ibri Academy is a testament to the power of passion in education. Emet and Hadassah are committed to making a lasting impact on their students and the community. Their story reminds us of the critical role educators play in shaping futures.
